With winter is right around the corner, it’s time to start getting your home ready for the cold season ahead. That includes winterizing your awnings. Follow these tips to get your awning ready for winter.
Clear off any sticks, leaves or other debris that may have collected throughout the summer and fall. Then use a hose to wash off any dirt that may have built up and use a soft bristle brush to scrub out any stains. Repair any tears or holes.
Once your awning is completely dry, take it down for the winter. If you have a retractable awning, you can simply retract it to protect it from the winter elements. If your awning is installed on a frame, take it down and fold it carefully to avoid tears.
